New Playground Development Project July 2026
Thu 30 Jul 2026SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROJECT HAS BEGUN!!!!
We are delighted to announce that Chudleigh Knighton Primary School have been awarded over £32,000 from the Hennock Parish Council Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding. We want to thank everyone involved in helping to make this happen. The funds will be used to improve our Early Years outdoor play provision and create a space which is more accessible and inclusive for all. The current provision is very limited with lots of restrictions including significant barriers to free movement because of multiple tiered levels.
Outdoor Play UK have redesigned the area to improve accessibility, install soft surfacing to allow a wider range of physical activities, and add shelter to encourage play in all weather conditions and support continuous provision throughout the year. Better outdoor play equipment will directly enhance children’s gross motor development, promote physical confidence, and encourage active, healthy lifestyles from an early age, while enhancing the quality of outdoor learning. Children will have access to a sand box, water table and climbing area in phase one, with phase two including a timber trail and rope bridge for the main school.
Thank you to PTFA Chudleigh Knighton and Hennock Parish Council for your support with this project.

Year 6 School Leavers
Wed 22 Jul 2026As the school year comes to a close, it’s time to say goodbye to our fantastic Year 6 pupils as they head off to secondary school.
We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved during your time here — the effort you’ve put into your learning, the friendships you’ve built, and the way you've grown into thoughtful, capable young people. You’ve made us laugh, kept us on our toes, and shown us just how ready you are for the next step.
Secondary school will bring new subjects, new teachers, and new adventures — and we know you’re more than ready for it. Take everything you’ve learned with you, stay true to yourselves, and don’t be afraid to get stuck in and try new things!
You’ll always be part of Chudleigh Knighton, and we’ll be cheering you on from afar.
Good luck — and enjoy the journey!

Swimming Lessons (Summer 2026)
Fri 10 Jul 2026Year 4,5 and 6 Swimming Sessions
This year’s swimming sessions for our year 4,5 and 6 children were a great success. The children made excellent progress during each session and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
During the final session, the children practised water safety skills, including rescue techniques and the Float to Live method. They demonstrated great enthusiasm and confidence, making the season a real success.
A big thank you to Chudleigh Community Pool and swimming teacher, Jo for making this a successful experience for the children.
