Remembrance Service
Fri 12 Nov 2021This year's 'service of Remembrance' began with pupils dressed in their respective Beavers, Rainbow, Cubs and Brownies uniforms parading into the School Hall. The 'Last Post' was then played followed by the two minutes silence.
The service continued in a thoughtful and reflective manner, children from Year 6 gave a moving and powerful recital of two well-known World War 1 poems 'In Flanders Fields and Please Wear a Poppy' while the school sang together 'We Will Remember and It's A Long Way To Tipperary'. The service closed with prayers led by Rev Alex Sharpe.
After the service pupils who were dressed in their respective uniforms walked across to St Paul's church yard and lay crosses on the war graves in the cemetery. These graves had been tended in the lead up to Armistice Day by one of the Year 6 children who had cleaned, planted and watered the new plants in the three graves.

Rainbow of Joy
Fri 09 Jul 2021Members of the school's Ethos Committee have been inspired by the way rainbows have become a sign of hope and solidarity during these difficult times and wanted to explore ways of spreading joy in our local community. Together, they came up with the idea of creating a 'School rainbow'. The children have worked hard in their 'class bubbles' to collaboratively create a beautiful rainbow of artwork and poetry, featuring the work of each and every child. Each colour on the rainbow has been designed by a a Year Group, reflecting each of our Christian Values.
Creating this artwork has bought our school community together at a time when our classes have had to remain physically apart. The children are very proud of what they have made and hope it brings a smile to passer-by as they travel through the village.

'Leavers Hoodies'
Fri 25 Jun 2021Don't they look smart?!
Year 6 pupils have been presented with their 'Leavers Hoodies'. A big 'Thank You' must go to our very hard working PTFA who kindly purchased them, also thank you to all parents, carers and other family members who lend their support.
Throughout the year the PTFA lend their support to the school, this year not only have they bought the hoodies but they have also contributed towards the Year 6 visit to Exeter Laser Tag, the rainbow strips around the shelter in the Haytor playground and purchased digital headphones.
