  • Children in Need

    Wed 23 Nov 2022

This year's Children in Need raised an exceptional amount!! During the day School Councilors, House Captains and Prefects ran breaktime and lunchtime games, we held a 'name the bear' with the winner securing the named bear and choice of reading book; DPA was a special routine along the lines of the 'masked dancer' with prizes being awarded to the best dancers on the day!  We saw the return of the school's 'Pudsey Bear' outline for children to cover with spare change. The school day ended with a cake sale raising a total of £301.48

The service continued in a thoughtful and reflective manner with children in Year 6 giving a moving and powerful recital of 'In Flanders Fields' and 'Please Wear a Poppy' with the whole school singing 'We Will Remember and It's A Long Way to Tipperary'.  the service closed with prayers led by Revd Alex Sharpe.

After the service pupils who were dressed in their uniforms and the Chair of the school's Ethos Committee lay crosses on the three war graves in the cemetery.
