Year 6 Leaver Hoodies
The PTFA put aside fundraising money so that every child that leaves us in Year 6 will get their own Year 6 Hoodie to remember their time here at Chudleigh Knighton. The Hoodies are in the blue school colours and have the names of the children in the class on the back encased in the number representing the Year they left. This is just one of the many reasons why we have to fundraise and need your support. The Year 6 Hoodies are a huge hit with the children and in 2017 the presentation took place at the end of the SATS week so that the children would be able to wear the Hoodies at their Residential and various trips during their last few weeks at Chudleigh Knighton.
The school disco this summer term was run by Jordy, one of our Year 6's. The PTFA provided refreshments and 'bouncers' on the door while Jordy played his music for everyone to dance along to. Everyone that came along had a great time and left the building tired but happy. Thank you to Jordy for bringing all his equipment along, to our team of volunteers for all their hard work and to the attending teachers for helping to make the event a great success. We raised nearly £200 on the night so well done all of you!
Our Summer Fayre was a great success this year, with our Princess and Pirate theme going down well with our youngest members of the school. Princess Elsa and Anna paid us a very special visit entertaining us with some well known 'Frozen' songs and then they painted nails and put on glittery tattoos. Glyn Minion also came along to see everybody and lots of photos were taken.
There were lots of stalls and things to do including the popular wet sponges. A huge thank you goes out to all the PTFA members, staff and parents who helped before, during and after the event. Thank you also to everyone who attended and spent their money trying to win prizes and buying tasty treats. We raised over £700.00 which is brilliant and will be well spent.
Fifteen children took on the challenge of staying quiet for half an hour on the 18th March at the end of the school day and what a fantastic job they did as well. Some of them found it very hard but with the help of the odd sticker and biscuit they succeeded in collecting their certificate at the end of the silence. Mrs Hall had a tougher challenge having to be silent for the whole day.
The total raised so far is £143.00 with a few more sponsors to still come in. Well done to everyone for taking part and thank you to all their sponsors for trusting in them.
Pampered Chef Evening
Several parents and other members of the community joined Tam Russell in Chudleigh Knighton Village Hall to watch a Pampered Chef cookery demonstration. Two sunflower pies and toffee apple tartlets were made with the 'assistance' of Ruth Hall. All the guests were able to sample the delicious offerings. The evening was a lot of fun and thanks go to Tam Russell for sharing Pampered Chef with us all, Sally Simon who co-ordinated the Raffle ticket sales and refreshments and to everyone who attended.
It was also lovely to see some craft stalls which gave us all something to look at before the show began. Thank you to Ruth Haynes and Simone Tomlinson for supporting our event.
The final total raised during this fun evening was £75.00. Thank you to all of you who attended to make this happen.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with or attended the Disco on Friday evening. The Village Hall proved to be a popular venue giving the children plenty of space to strut their stuff. With refreshments available for children and adults, it was lovely to see some parents staying and joining in the fun too. A big thank you to all the PTFA members who helped out prior to the event and on the night, manning the door, handing out refreshments and clearing up at the end. The children behaved impeccably and they all went home with big smiles on their faces if not a little tired! I would like to say a huge thank you to Peter Herring of PDH Disco who came along with all his equipment so we could have a proper disco. The children loved the laser lights and pumping tunes!
The evening raised a huge £176.15 for the PTFA so thank you once again!
