  • Easter Cards

    For children of 'Key Workers' the school has remained open, today; the last day of the Spring Term they have been making Easter Cards for some residents of the village.
  • 'Out and About'

    This week children have joined pupils from Lady Seaward's, Rockbeare, Westcliff and Willowbank for two action packed days!  The first, a 'Science Day' held at Rockbeare saw children conducting several experiments.  The second, a day filled with opera at Westcliff; the afternoon concluded with children performing as a mass choir.

    Meanwhile, Year 5 children visited the Stover Canal where they were able to see the work being undertaken to preserve the canal and learn more about its history from a member of the 'Stover Canal Trust.

    Children in Years 1-6 received a 'follow-up' assembly from CAP reminding them how the stay 'Safe, Strong and Free'.

    The week concluded with 'Sport Relief'; with each class running around the playground attempting to run 100 miles! 

  • Fair Trade Conference and World Book Day

    This week Year 5 pupils attended the annual Fair Trade Conference held at Chudleigh Primary School.  During the morning children met two coca growers from Ghana, they discussed the impact of climate change on farms and had the opportunity to taste chocolate.

    World Book Day took place on Thursday.  Children came into school dressed as their favourite book character.  Throughout the day pupils took part in a range of 'Share a Story' activities; parents and carers joined us to 'share' their favourite stories with children.

  • We Sang in Exeter Cathedral!!

    On Saturday 29th February members of our school choir joined six other local schools along with the Cathedral Boys Choristers and Devon County Junior to sing in Exeter Cathedral.

    The 'Choral Outreach Programme' works with the Cathedral and Devon Music Hub to bring music, singing and performing to children across Devon.  Each school taking part performed individual songs, (we sang 'True Colours') and sang as part of a 'Mass Choir' with members of the Cathedral Boy Choristers, Devon County Junior Choir and the other local schools.

    Over the last six weeks the choir has being working with the outreach musical director and pianist.
