A busy first week back after Half Term; on Tuesday children in Burrator were visited by dentist Kimberly Yiend from the Chudleigh Dental Practice. Their Science topic this term is 'teeth and dental hygiene', during the afternoon children learned how important it is to 'clean their teeth' and looked at models; they have also completed and submitted their stories for Radio 2's 500 Words competition.
On Wednesday we held a 'Careers Morning' for pupils in Year's 5 and 6, children discussed and prepared questions for our visitors the day before. We would like to say 'Thank You' to parents, staff and outside agencies who came in to answer questions on various aspects of their jobs; some of our visitors included a member of the pharmaceuticals industry, surveyor, podiatrist, practice and staff nurses, agricultural engineer from Mason Kings, a representative from Stags Estate Agents Exeter and the Devon and Cornwall Police.
Thursday we re-launched the 'Learning Exchange'; following on from a suggestion put forward by our School Council to run this twice monthly and link it to our Apprenticeship Scheme.
