What an amazing day! We were joined by some of our friends from Lady Seaward's and Westcliff Primaries for a day filled with music. During the Festival children tried their hand at 'Samba' (which resonated around the school), learned to play 'Five Little Monkeys and Black Socks' on the ukuleles, which they performed later that day in Assembly.
Music was used to inspire art, pupils listened to three pieces of music then selected one which formed an image, the art work produced was wondrous. Children also learned 'Bob Marley's Three Birds' which they not only sung but learned to 'sign' too!
Dance and music were linked to PE, children took part in dance based movement around the theme of 'Pirates and Gladiators'. One pupil said 'I walked the plank but I didn't fall-in!'
Everybody agreed it was a fantastic day! Children are looking forward to meeting their friends from across the 'Hub' again very shortly.
