'Action Packed' Start to Term

What a busy couple of weeks we have had!  Children in Years 3 - 6 watched the Viking tale of 'Beowolf' performed by 'Rattlebox Theatre.  Puppets and ancient Anglo Saxon instruments recalled the tale.

Pupils in Years 2 and 5 learned of the importance of fire safety by Andy Gould from Devon Fire and Rescue Service; how smoke alarms can save lives and what action children should take if they discover a fire.

A Handball Festival was attended by Year 5/6 meeting up and playing with children from across the 'Learning Community'; while six Year 6 children went to the 'Central Hub's Maths Day' held at Lady Seawards.  During the day they got to grips with decimals, percentages, angles and problem solving.

We were paid a visit by Helen Reynolds from Hennock Parish Council who presented our School Council with a laptop and Rev Paul, other members of St Paul's Church along with Rachael Caunter (Executive Head of the First Federation's South Hub) led a 'Commissioning Assembly for Mr Spraggon.
