Master Chefs in the Making!
Budding ‘master chefs’ from Belstone have been attending St Margaret’s School Exeter on a weekly basis for cookery lessons; using their mathematical and scientific skills pupils have been weighing and measuring a variety of ingredients to produce an array of goodies. Returning to school with a sumptuous fare of confection such as chocolate and beetroot cake, banana and oat flapjacks and carrot cake, they have also turned their hands to making smoothies and fruit salads.
Simon Westwood Belstone teacher said: ‘I would like to express my thanks to Elaine Clark from St Margaret’s School for her valuable time and commitment to this ‘learning exchange’. She has not only encouraged our pupils during their cookery instruction but has also visited our school and spent time talking to our pupils about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet’.
